Why We TRAIN HARD Through Life’s Toughest Seasons
There’s a clip of Tony Robbins from a podcast that hit me hard this week. In it, he talks about how the ages of 22–42 are statistically the most unhappy period in life. Why? People come out of their early 20s and think life is supposed to be easy, but it’s not.
Those two decades are full of challenges. You’re figuring out who you are, proving yourself in your career, and building a family. And man — Tony Robbins is right. These years aren’t easy.
Next year, I turn 40, and I’ll be the first to tell you that the past two decades have been a rollercoaster.
I’ve been blessed in so many ways, but there have been moments of doubt, struggle, and lessons learned the hard way.
These tough years are a crucible. They can shape you — or they can break you. How will you come out on the other side? That’s entirely up to you.
If you’re in this season of life right now, just know you’re not alone. Statistically, almost everyone else is too. That’s why what you do during these years matters so much.
This is why we TRAIN HARD — not just in the gym, but in life.
We train through adversity. We don’t stop when college sports end or when life gets busy with kids. We don’t let injuries derail us. We always find a way to keep moving forward.
We keep seeking challenges because doing the hard things is what toughens us up and gives us the confidence to face life head-on.
It could be the discipline of following a structured training program, the discomfort of a cold plunge, or dropping old habits that are holding you back. Whatever it is, you have to do the hard thing.
Not because it’s easy. Not because it’s fun. But because it’s the only way to get through this season stronger, tougher, and happier on the other side.
If you’re in this season of life, keep showing up. Keep doing the work. And know that these years, as hard as they are, can also be the most transformative of your life.
